Want to create an indicator for Ubuntu but don’t know were to start? Well here is an empty indicator that’s ready to go; this isn’t a tutorial – simply an empty file that can be downloaded and modified as necessary.
SCP (secure copy) is a command which allows you to transfer files from one machine to another using SSH and is an extremely useful tool. Unfortunately the documentation can be a little confusing; the syntax for this command is:
scp [-1246BCpqrv] [-c cipher] [-F ssh_config] [-i identity_file] [-l limit] [-o ssh_option] [-P port] -S program] [[user@]host1:]file1 [...] [[user@]host2:]file2
And so I’ve documented some uses of the command here for future reference, which I will update as necessary.
Recently I’ve become aware that I don’t usually document my problems or solutions, which usually means I end up searching Google time after time in a desperate attempt to find the same blog or forum post which helped me the last time round. So from now on I’ll start posting the problems and solutions to my own blog, which I imagine will be substantially easier to find!
